How to Register for ENGL 102–104

To register for ENGL 102–104, follow these steps. 

• Determine the AEP courses you need to take. Open your unofficial transcript through MyUW. The required English courses should be listed in the upper left corner beneath your name. If multiple courses are required, you only need to  register for one per quarter until the requirement is satisfied. To check that your placement is correct, view the qualifying scores on the Placement page.
• Review offerings and register. On the UW Time Schedule, first choose a quarter. AEP courses are listed under College of Arts & Sciences - English (ENGL). The schedule lists course time, location and instructor. Once you find the section you would like to take, write down the 5-digit SLN number for the course. You'll enter the course SLN number to register through MyUW.

Course Fee

The fee for AEP courses is separate from regular tuition, though each course counts toward full-time enrollment and financial aid requirements. The fee for ENGL 102, 103 and 104 is $1,788 per course. There is no fee for ENGL 105.

Registration Policies

Non-AEP Students

If space is available, AEP courses are open to non-AEP students, including matriculated students who have already met English proficiency requirements, nonmatriculated students and visiting scholars. Contact us for more information.

Switches and Drops

No section changes are permitted after the first week of the quarter. AEP courses follow published UW policies regarding refunds and withdrawals. Contact aep@uw.edu if you are withdrawing from an AEP course after the quarter has begun.
